purity is the best policy

July 3rd, 2008

alhamdulillah we as muslims have been raised with the kalimah la ilahe illallah

there is no god, only Allah

in makkah in the masjid al- haraaam, i was thinking abt iman and how it shines on ones face where u can say a face full of iman!

i was thinking of how to be able to maintain iman once someone gets it… because as we know it can always change .. increase or decrease

i thought of an idea : think of a funnel in which one can put water … or a tube through which water can run… if some parts of the tube are squeezed and tightened.. than either water flow slows down or stops altogether… similarly … think of our consciousness (awareness) and iman … so the more we keep ourselves awake and aware of Allah (God-consciousness … taqwa), the more we keep our consciousness open, then more iman can continue flowing through us and we can have more energy and power to do good things

to keep that awareness open and awake is by doing good deeds … when u do bad deeds, that consciousness can get closed down little by little depending on the severity of the bad deed

may Allah always keep us doing things that He is pleased with and keep us in His protection from falling into shaytanic ways

so as the title was saying if in all circumstances we just make tauba and come back to the way of Allah … even if we drank a whole lot from shaytanic channels of unnecessary anger, hate, and other bad things

if we can clear our hearts of everything and try to make it clean, that is the best support for awareness and as a result the best condition for iman to come to our hearts… remember it is mentioned in the Quran:

049.014
YUSUFALI: The desert Arabs say, “We believe.” Say, “Ye have no faith; but ye (only)say, ‘We have submitted our wills to Allah,’ For not yet has Faith entered your hearts. But if ye obey Allah and His Messenger, He will not belittle aught of your deeds: for Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.”

tomorrow is also the start of the 3 holy months of rajab, shaban, and ramadhan … may Allah help us make the best use of them in doing good acts and increasing our iman, awareness, understanding, and wisdom

hierarchical administration

July 3rd, 2008

last thursday until tuesday morning i was in medina and most of the time in the masjid of the Last Prophet Muhammad (saw) … noticed that such an atmosphere is the best i ever experienced in the whole world… i was thinking i can even take 2 years and just stay there… no need for any money or possessions.. i could live off the zamzam that is in the masjid

met an old friend there who was telling me that it is a good place for tefekkur and he told me a saying that an hour spent in tefekkur (thinking) is more valuable than many spent in worship

i was thinking about the word tefekkur (fa ka ra) it is with the letter ‘kaf’ it is close in sound to the word fa qa ra (with Qaf) … poverty… when one is poor, he is fed by the Rich One (al-Ghani)

got an idea that doing tefekkur (thinking) is like being poor and then Allah feeds u, gives u, shows u some knowledge treasures from the world of reality

….
one of the new ideas i thought about was that Allah (swt) sent our Messenger Prophet Muhammad (saw) as a teacher to us to teach us some things… he (saw) was doing that in his lifetime assigned tto him here on this earth.. he (saw) was teaching people and in his lifetime he also assigned some others to go and teach people… after his time here physically was finished… there were others who continued on teaching his teachings … what i mean by physicallly is that he (saw) physically passed away but according to the belief of the ahlas sunnah he (saw) is living and hearing ..

even the shaheed’s Allah talks about them being alive and not to say they are dead in the Quran … baqarah 154 : “and dont say of the ones who were killed in the way of Allah that they are dead. No they are alive but you are not aware”

also whenever anyone asks for peace and blessings on the Prophet (saw), he (saw) knows about it and the one who asked for that gets ten times that blessings rained on him.

so anyways, after the prophet (saw) passed away there were those who were his true inheritors who were living here on this earth and teaching his teachings to raise people upto heavens and make them pleased with Allah and purify them

each person can be purified the more he/she can purify his heart to make it empty, clear, and clean and be with Allah the best they can…. everyone can be happy and experience the delights of heavenly blisses that are flowing around to the degree that they can empty their hearts

for that reason we have salah 5 times a day and other worshipping actions

there are 2 levels… one at the level of Creator and the other - the level of creation… those 2 can never mix…. Allah has attributes divine ones that are at his level that NO-ONE can understand… they are too lofty and High … he also created oceans of his blessings that are at the level of His creation so that He can give to them

those mercy oceans and power oceans are distributed through creation through the hearts not by going and physically taking a package or box of mercy and giving to someone… it is flowing into someones heart and then they experience it… the more a person looks to please Allah and lives for Allah, he will be getting much more awareness and feeling of those blessings

Prophet Muhammad (saw) even in his worst physical situations like the one where he (saw) went to Taif to invite to the way of Allah and was stoned and insulted… said :

So long as You are not angry with me, I do not care. Your favour is of more abundance to me. I seek refuge in the light of Your Face by which all darkness is dispelled and every affair of this world and the next is set right, lest Your anger or your displeasure descend upon me. I desire your pleasure and satisfaction until you are pleased. .. source

everyone in this world is struggling to get better and better… prophet Muhammad (saw) said “Seek knowledge from the cradle to the grave.”

those mercy oceans from which Allah gives to His servants are coming in this world through the heart of Prophet Muhammad (saw) and the heart of the sultan-ul awliya than being distributed to the other creatures

at every age and time there are those people that Allah assigned and through whom blessings are distributed to the people currently living on earth

even those saints through whom blessings are distributed, they are not all on the same level… there is a hierarchy … some group of them - the abdaal - is mentioned in the hadith narrated by Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal:

1. Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal says in his Musnad (1:112):

… The people of Syria were mentioned in front of `Ali ibn Abi Talib while he was in Iraq, and they said: “Curse them, O Commander of the Believers.” He replied: “No, I heard the Messenger of Allah say: “The Substitutes (al-abdal) are in Syria and they are forty men, every time one of them dies, Allah substitutes another in his place. By means of them Allah brings down the rain, gives (Muslims) victory over their enemies, and averts punishment from the people of Syria.”" al-Haythami said: “The men in its chains are all those of the sahih except for Sharih ibn `Ubayd, and he is trustworthy (thiqa).”[33]

there are streams of blessings running like currents all around the earth.. running through the hearts of those saints who are in that hierarchy and then going to be distributed among people as well… nobody should think “oh im independant of such a hierarchy!” … even the people who deny such a thing or are not aware of it are getting the benefits of the streams that are heavenly streams from those saints

those people who may not be aware of that but come together and remember Allah, have halaqas of knowledge and learning also are given some of those blessings and are being covered by Rahmah

when some people do some actions that are liked by Allah, it can be a cause for more blessings to be rained on that place like people who make dhikr, who talk about Allah, who talk about His messengers, Prophets, and saints
———–
3. Tabarani said in his Mu`jam al-awsat:

Anas said that the Prophet said: “The earth will never lack forty men similar to the Friend of the Merciful [Prophet Ibrahim], and through them people receive rain and are given help. None of them dies except Allah substitutes another in his place.” Qatada said: “We do not doubt that al-Hasan [al-Basri] is one of them.”
————————

also more blessings can be rained on ones who are weak… there is a hadith about that also… it maybe that a group of people are getting rain and blessings because of the weak among them and even because of the animals among them

———-
Ibn `Umar relates that the Prophet, blessings and Peace upon him said: “No people refrain from paying the poor-tax (zakat) except they would be denied rain from the sky, and if it were not for the sake of their animals they would not be watered.” Tabarani related it.
——-

so just like there is such a hierarchy … a secret one (most ppl dont know abt it and especially who is part of it) … shaytan also can have some currents running to each and every person and a devil assigned to try and mislead each and every person… those devils try to pollute the ppls hearts

may Allah protect us from shaytan and fill us with iman…

each person than if he tries his best not to associate anyone with Allah and make his/her heart clean and worshipping Allah and does good deeds with iman, than he/she will be rewarded in the future accordingly by the mercy of Allah

natural authority

May 24th, 2008

learned about the idea of natural authority between ppl

for some ppl Allah established some sort of spiritual power that allows them to have authority over themselves and others

if the ones around that being accept that spiritual authority that Allah has given to that being and assigned to him/her… and also the being himself also accepts that, then there is harmonious relationships and Allah is also pleased and heavenly streams easily flow around there

but if any of those parties dont accept, then there is fighting and struggle and shaytan becomes happy and chaos happens and ppl dont become happy

(thats the situation with senate and parliament… fighting amongst each other) (with khalifa its a different story with his advisors)

this idea may apply to so many places, relationships between friends, spouses, big bros and youngsters, teacher and students, and every relationship

even between 2 ppl there has to be some order and following the rules and commands set by Allah from the heavens…. so the one given authority by Allah in the heavens is the one that should be followed…. thats the way to harmony, otherwise everyone is unhappy in chaos

thats the beautiful order that Allah uses … subhanallah

of course, notice that im talking about “natural” authority… which means authority that is acceptable and that is assigned by the Lord of the Heavens - Allah …. im not talking about people claiming themselves to be in authority .. that is fake authority and the way of shaytan … he did the same thing when Allah gave authority to Adam (as) and all the angels prostrated to him but shaytan disobeyed the divine order and went against that authority that Allah assigned

may Allah guide us and increase our knowledge and understanding

slow learner

May 12th, 2008

last summer when dad was here, he was mentioning about how good feelings of bliss and love are good and about them being forever

only today i realize it and realize how obvious that is

those bliss and love currents like streams are always running around… important thing is to go into them…

another point i noticed is the power and intensity of them that u can feel

shaykh mokhtar was also mentioning in last khutbah, that the real love is permanent and forever… if u can find and enter into that stream of love and stay in it forever… have taqwa .. fear of Allah and protect yourself from falling out of it and going far away from it…

once someone was asking describing taqwa to Sayyidna Omar (ra)… he said that if u go into a thorny rose garden with thorns everywhere… than you pick up your robes and watch where u step

similarly, its good to always be awake and aware not to fall out of those good streams that are coming from the hearts of saints and ultimately from the heart of our prophet Muhammad (saw)

when u realize some obvious things like this, u think wow, if u realized that before alot of stuff maybe different or how u went around people treating them badly… but everything has its time… to be able to continue pursuing this expanding of awareness to develop more, its important (according to my understanding) to always be in focus so ur iman can build up and than u can see and realize more things with its light

its called single-pointed concentration… throughout your whole day… even when working… during salah it helps to make it even stronger because of less distractions (if Allah wills we can continue that in ur sleep as well… but for lazy and weak ppl like us it seems hard now… may Allah guide us to the best ways)

persuading ppl

January 25th, 2008

shaytan uses all types of tricks to trick ppl.. Allah gave him that chance and allowed him to use those means…

our job is also to use the best means that we have to persuade ppl and take them to good things… imagine a lover with a loved one, when that loved one says something, she lovingly follows him because she wants to be with him and she feels feelings that are the utmost of pure pleasure

we ourselves are nothing but we can ask help from Allah to give us those streams of love to take ppl to good places

imagine 2 scenarios: one in which there is no love the other person is like dead and not moving…. imagine the other scenario when the person is overflowing with love connected to someone.. looking at every single movement…. with 1 flick or indication, person who is overwhelmed with that love will do the bidding of her lover

key is to prepare ourselves to be able to take in those heavenly streams of love, and use them to take ppl to good … think of the love that the sahaba had for our Prophet (saw)… more than for themselves….. they used to say ‘may our parents be sacrificed for u o messenger of Allah!’

truthfulness opens up

December 3rd, 2007

i was watching shaykh mokhtar:

http://blip.tv/file/511903

he mentions…. “truthfulness is the sword of Allah on earth”

when u r truthful, Allah can open up avenues for u that could never have been opened before, and would be impossible otherwise..

relationship between patience and enjoyment and beauty

November 2nd, 2007

we take refuge in Allah

fa sabrun jameel

patience is beautiful

(Quran)

when one is patient when their nafs is met with things that the nafs may not like, then it experiences enjoyment and pleasure and allows others to experience pleasure and be pleased with him/her as well.

another point is that there is a saying it is worse to break the heart of a someone than to destroy the kaaba… when someone loses their patience and becomes angry and breaks the living relationship with the heart of another person, thats worse than destroying the kaaba.

the one who is making dhikr and the one who is not making dhikr is like the dead and the live person.

love 4 others what u love 4 urself

October 19th, 2007

the Messenger (saw) said “none of you will ever attain iman until you love for your brother what you love for yourself” (bukhari 12)

may Allah give everyone COUNTLESS times more than he gave me in ALL areas and make them all COUNTLESS times better than me.

connect to the power grid

September 27th, 2007

today i learned abt a new idea and im also practising it alhamdulillah….

Allah has assigned different creatures to take care of different responsibilities…..such as some angels to manage the forces of winds and seas…. some righteous ones to manage all of the positive channels and the smooth running of various affairs…. if we can connect with those righteous ones than we can also connect with the power grid to fill ourselves up with all the positive feelings of happiness and pleasure and all good things…

there r two types of channels, one pure type which are all the positive ones and the dirty channels….lets drink from the pure ones….

this situation is such that when there is no more righteous one left that says ‘La ilahe illallah’, Allah will destroy the whole universe…. by bringing into conscious the righteous ones, those channels are opened to us…and we are ready to receive from mercy oceans, and beauty oceans… and at the same time become a node on the grid to distribute the flow of those pure channels to ones around us….

Innal abrara la fee na3eem… verily the righteous are swimming in great bounty… blessed are those ppl who find those pure channels and go into them…. those channels are running everywhere around the world…..are we swimming to them or are we going to enter into the other channels… the dirty channels and feel all the dirtiness…..

salah helps us to purify our containers so that we can receive and then distribute even more of those good channels to everyone around us,…. good akhlak to the ones around us is the thing that will conquear their hearts and attract them immensely to u and to the light of islam…. ppl willl never be bored of staying near such ppl who continuously flow of such bounties as love, happiness, pleasure, and good manners…

ya ayyuhallatheena amanutakkullaha wa koonu ma3asadikeen…. o u who believe, have consciousness of Allah and be with the truthful ones…

some ppl may know how to empty themselves of everything, and then there hearts get filled up with good things… but where is it coming from? Allah gives it to them through other righteous ones… the power grid of the universe… they are the nodes….that Allah uses to manage things…. if none of them is left who says ‘la ilahe illallah’ Allah will destroy this universe… and it is such that if u connect to the grid from a power station, u can fill up yourself whether u r as small as a motorbike, or as large as a 40 wheel truck…. ull get filled up to satisfaction……because the channels are coming from the heavens and from the treasures of Allah… he assigns the keys of His treasures to the ones who are trustworthy…

may Allah forgive us…

just imagine how the environment around the Prophet (saw) was…. ppl were saying ‘this is like a jannah on earth’

masjid - center of life

September 9th, 2007

i learnt yesterday that the masjid should be the center of our lives… Allah created us to worship Him…
makkah is the roots of a tree… madina is the trunk… all the masjids around the world are the branches with fruits of that tree…. zamzam is the water at the roots…

all the masjids around the world should also follow the model of the masjid an-nabawi in the time of the Prophet (saw) for it to be a healthy branch and fruit of the tree… for it to be a lively branch of the tree…. or else it may die out and not benefit its surroundings….

4 amals were being done in the masjid an-nabawi:

1- dawah
2- taleem/learning
3- dhikr
4- hizmet (service to others)

masjid being the center of your life means…. that someone is in the masjid, together with the brothers… they discuss anything that is needed for the community and then go and do that service…. they are aware of whats going on in the community and ppl arent just loners staying by themselves… they welcome newcomers, visit the sick and help the poor and needy… also visit the ones who arent able to come to the masjid…. it is a gathering place … the place of jama’ah…

individual action compared to collective action is like a drop of water compared to the ocean…

ur in the masjid, when a need arises from home, you go there, then come back to masjid…. if it is time for work, you go there, then come back to masjid…. that is the attitude of the masjid being the center of your life…

it also facilitates for you to cultivate yourself and put barakah and blessings in your wordly affairs as well… abdurrahman bin awf needed to leave the masjid to go to the bathroom, on the way, a man sold him a goat…. when coming back from the toilet, abdurRahman (ra) sold the goat for a higher price getting a lot of profit…

connect all people with the masjid… deen is the way of peace … the way of inner peace as well as peace in the society…

doing the acts of light (amal nuraniyya) has benefits to surroundings as well..
